Le Vie Germiane
You can relive the movie locations of “Sedotta e abbandonata” and “In nome della Legge”
The historical, cultural and artistic path is born thanks to the collaboration with the Sciacca Art School that has inserted in the places that were set of the film ”Sedotta e Abbandonata" (1963) of Pietro Germi (Genova 1914 - Roma 1974), of artistic works that allow you to retrace and relive the atmosphere of the film. The itinerary is a good opportunity to get to know suggestive places of the city through the eyes of the great director Pietro Germi, retracing the Italian cinema of the 1960s, of which the film is a great example.
The Jewish Sciacca
Around the places of the Jewish community.
Sciacca still preserves the memories of the presence of a flourishing Jewish community from the second half of the fourteenth century until the fateful 1492, the year in which Ferdinand the Catholic issued an expulsion decree against them. The tour will cross the most significant places of the Jewish presence in Sciacca, now hidden by stratifications subsequent to the diaspora of the Jews.
The case of Sciacca
The unfortunate tragedy of the Case of Giacomo Perollo, committed by Sigismondo Luna, Count of Caltabellotta.
Luna and Perollo are the names of the two noble families, one of Catalan origin, the other of Norman origin, protagonists of the so-called Case of Sciacca: a long and bloody dispute that saw the involvement of other noble families in support of the one or the other faction.
The path allows the visitor to relive the places and listen to the salient facts of the story step by step.
